Greek Island Holiday Help

Apparently the outdoor cinema in Skiathos is completely boarded up, maybe just renovating before the proper start of the season?

The cinema has a cheque history and been closed on a few occasions.
The tour of the town is quite interesting, if your into that sort of thing.

Did Corfu last year and really enjoyed it so booked Kos this year at the end of Summer to try something similar but different. Greece abandoning the whole EU border process was a massive attraction as well as I really dont fancy waiting at border control for hours. The child is eating us out of house and home so went all inclusive which is something we normally wouldn't do but its probably going to work out cheaper and easier that way. We usually would do some exploring but with a toddler its probably going to be a resort job this year although might grt out for the odd day in the car.

Booked 11 nights in Kefalonia. Skiathos was too expensive for the decent places, will try for a week next year maybe.

Dunno your definition of decent but we wanted an apartment in Skiathos Town, not a studio or hotel room, and booked for June 2027 when Jet 2 released their 2027 holidays back end of last year. Choice of actual 1 or 2 bed apartments was very limited.

Glad I did it as would never think of booking that far ahead but it was gone within a week or so.

Yeah, the town was crazy prices with jet2 and tui, didn’t quite fancy the resorts and travelling in. Will have a look for next year actually.

ffs .. gonna be right ballache that
We had to do it in Gran Canaria in April

Its a pain at the time then you just forget about it and get on with the rest of your holiday.

Queues were mainly down to (a) too many flights arriving at once (b) machines not working (out of a bank of about 20, only 10 or so were actually on) and (c) people being unable to follow simple instructions

Took about an hour to get through that but but then cases were waiting and had to wait another hour on transfer bus anyway as families still had to queue in one massive queue with only two border officers on anyway

Off to Kardamena, Kos in two weeks. Love the Stone roses bar. Plenty of good restaurants as well. Lassi in Kefalonia for september again. Nice strip of restaurants and the capital argostoli is 5mins drive (20 walking). Hidden garden restaurant and a walk along the marina and over the bridge. Plenty to see and do including Assos, Fiskardo and Ithica (which is bound to become a tourist trap after The Odyssey comes out). Favourite lager in both places is Eza. Hard to get even out there on both islands.
