Greek Island Holiday Help

Got to rate Skiathos as my fave as married there( i know), great little island although getting cosmopoliton and hence price rises..Some very quiet resorts and great beaches such as Troulos and Koukanarious.

Crete is fantastic too, recently stayed in Koutafalari and old Hersonisis...very traditional greek , but not on the coast, approx 30 mins on foot..10 by car.

Was in Corfu in August in a tiny resort called Aghious Georgious North.
Fantastic family run hotel called Costas Golden Beach..Hotel is right on a huge beach..lots of beach bars/ restaraunts.
Been there 3 times, absolutley immaculate, and the lad in the bar married a lass from Silky, so gets over for games and hates the mags..
Currently in Zante, small resort called Vasilikas, lovely beach but very quiet compared with Argassi along the road (5/6km), like bloody Backpool.

But all in all, prices remain prety constant around the islands...15-18€ for main course, 5€ for a large beer, 7-9 € for a martini type drink and 10-12€ for a cocktail.
Hope this helps.
Stayed in Koutalfari 3 years ago, beautiful place, as were the 2 adjacent villages (the names escape me now), and the restaurants were amazing😄

We've been to Lassi 3 times in recent years, really liked it ( obviously, went 3 times), but the weather was shite last year which finished us off after a couple of the great beach bars we like were removed by the local govt nazis. Probs for the best I dont go back after repeatedly making a tit of myself dancing in the disco bar/club after too many caiprinha's.

Butlers house on the lassi strip does all the traditional stuff pretty well, and you get a hilarious rendition of Delilah by one of the waiters who still doesn't know the words after singing it 4000 times, " sheeee waaas my laughing ha ha ha ha"

It's the Durrell connection there I think also helps bump up prices.
Aye a meal in the white house Durrell place wasn't the cheapest mind 😂

Thinking of Kalami next year, currently in Vasilikas Zante and its canny expensive here, 5-6 a pint and 15-18 msin course, was Kalami more expensive mate?

Was in Chania in Crete in late August . amazing weather , never saw a cloud for 10 days. Very nice place . Visited Souda bay and Stavros Beach . Fancy going back to Crete to stay at one of the other resorts.

We went July absolutely loved it quite busy but we didn't mind, done a couple of the breweries this time.

Been to Rethmyno few years ago and that was very nice aswell.

lovely Crete like tbh.

Couldn't really say as it's a good few years since been there, that north eastern side of corfu is generally a bit pricier as there seems to be money there, places like barbati etc seem more upmarket.

Ah Fix, my weapon of choice.

Got a pic from my mate yesterday
The 47km taxi ride we always got to chania airport to come home is now €60 from €40 .
50% jump .
It's been 40 for a few years mind . Not bad sharing, done it solo a few times

Love the local Cretan lagers . Really hit the spot after a long day . Also their fondness for real Mam type chips on their meals

Had a couple of days in Georgioupolis crete , 1 hour from chania airport. 28° at mo with a breeze ,my mate saud its been too hot prior to this . We're heading off and coming back as its a good base . Lovely long beach ,quietish but nice village ,plenty nice restaurants and bars but no mad late loud .
Did the bridge dip on this vid yesterday. Yes it's freezing .
For bargain grabbers ,3 of us adults in a family room ,basic , £23 a night AI . Room average, food you eat up the road at a posher place so that's spot on ,pool at another place, OK. Drinks in tiny plastic cups but we're not supping much .

Landed in Zante and I shit you not there is a mag in our hotel who just took his t shirt off and he has Katelin 11 tattooed on his back like the back of a football kit 🤣🤣🤣🤣,mag towel, mag badge on his calf.

They're a different breed

I'll try and get a sneaky pic.

What I find great with Greece is your custom is not seemingly taken as a “ given “ like in some countries .
Maybe that’s because the local people have had it rough financially and appreciate people can pick and choose wether to return or as I like believe they are just genuinely nice .
Always find Greece to be friendly laid back and a great place to relax .
The Mosa beach bar/restaurant in Kiotari is a tremendous place to chill on Rhodes
Aye agree with you there about the Greeks. They just have something about them. Off to Rhodes myself for 3 weeks next Tuesday. Pet permitting. He’s decided to be ill 🙄

We definitely need a pic.

My mates just got back from Corfu.

He says the mozzies were a nightmare.

His lass has come up in a load of horrible watery blebs.

Hope this helps when trying to decide which Greek destination you pick.

We are in Kos at the moment and there is a new very smart restaurant called Barolo in Kos Town. It’s that kind of restaurant where you dress a bit smart as opposed to your anything goes touristy ones. We were in on Saturday evening and what rocks up in a group of 4 with its football top - no prizes for guessing. Anyway they asked him to change his shirt to get entry, mind you his top did look grubby, so I’m not sure if he was refused for that as opposed to the actual top. Anyway after a bit mumbling and grumbling they fuck off and don’t come back. There were quite a few locals in the restaurant so a lot Greek words were exchanged between them and laughter and shrugging of shoulders. Anyway we headed back along to the hotel afterwards and here it was sitting in the bar. Anyway I couldn’t help but tell another couple who we had been speaking to earlier how nice the restaurant was and how nice the people running it were, right in ear shot of the numpty. Our lass says his face was a picture. What sort of f***ing muppet goes out to a nice restaurant on a Saturday night in a football top. They really are f***ing daft at times.
