Granit

I also think this is one of our biggest challenges coming down the tracks. He has been so effective precisely because of his experience and leadership. Nobody with those attributes is coming to play second fiddle. A near-unique signing. Enjoying every single moment of him.

Hopefully as the team develops and becomes more established in the top flight we’ll have premier league experience all over the pitch

Him and Adingra were the only Sunderland players on the pitch first game of the season who had played in the Premier League before which won’t be the case in 26/27 and going forward.

We will struggle to replace him with someone as good. Players like him just rarely sign for clubs like ours. Huge boots for anyone to try and fill.

One of his biggest tasks for us is to impart as much as he can to the other midfielders to try and fill the gap he's going to leave behind. But as you say it's very difficult to replace him like for like, we're probably looking at his contribution needing to be spread across two or even three players

absolutely bossed the midfield, controlled the game completely, didn't panic ever, a colossus

There’s some can’t read a football match illiterate, on another threat claims he had an off day. I have people around me at match up in arms because he misplaced a coupIe of passes.I despair 🤷🏻

He was in a different class

It’s a massive fact this.
