Granit Xhaka - Our Captain


All that is missing from Granits record as a Sunderland legend is longevity.

Let’s hope he solves that issue by staying with the club for a number of years and perhaps, eventually, succeeds Regis.
 
In an interview given yesterday to the Swiss press, he spoke about Sunderland's season and Switzerland's ambitions at the World Cup. He said he had only experienced the magic of a home crowd once before Sunderland, at the start of his career with his hometown club, Basel. He added that if the club's season had been so successful, the Sunderland fans were one of the main reasons, along with the fantastic spirit between the staff and the players.
