After the 3rd test v Aus he's calling time on an impressive international career.

The Aussies will claim this as another victory, no doubt. If only they had accounted for the choirboy too.

The right decision in all honesty, his batting has looked all at sea this series.

Will be weird watching South Africa without Smith and Kallis though.

And he's now an Irish citerzen so can play over here without being considered to be an oversees cricketer

How lucky are Surrey they will have both him and Pietersen available for the majority of the season and they can have another overseas player[DOUBLEPOST=1393882000][/DOUBLEPOST]Although he has been struggling of late I think some of it is due to losing his two big mates from the sides in kallis and Boucher

Seems to have been struggling for injuries for a few years now so probably feels he's not up to it at the top level any more. From the little I've seen of him recently (admittedly not much) he hasn't looked the aggressive, domineering presence he used to be. Been consistently good for a long time now especially when you consider he's been captain for so long and from such a young age, a lot of pressure on him in that time.
