I think I've figured out why the media are so positive about the Mags.

They're building them up and making them think they're fine and are really a great team they've just been unlucky.

When they eventually click on that they're in the shit (it takes a while because they're a bit slow) they have a massive meltdown, protests, bedsheets, funerals, riots, horse punching...

The papers and TV have a field day :)

Well I'd totally disagree that we're a joke but, even if we were, it's not the job of the media to resort to the kind of sniping you find on here.

SAFC are a long standing PL club, recently at Wembley and with a great bunch of supporters ....... whereas the likes of Man City zoomed past us on the back of unlimited finance from a bored Sheikh. Them winning the title was a joke and, in part, what's wrong with modern football.

We sustain a football club in the top league from a far outpost on the NE coast ........ I don't see us as a joke.

All Premier League games are live in many countries of the world. I doubt the good people of Jakarta or Seoul give a sh!t what some dozy bint even I could barely pick out of a lineup thinks. Global value and revenue is based on success, history, our sales ability and whether we play Man Utd or not.

I understand your sentiment. But the local BBC is disgracefully low quality. If nobody complains we will continue to get the "amateur night" rubbish we will deserve.
