It's the most derailed thread in a long time, but as someone pointed out if he had been sold we'd have a number of media sites reporting it.

It's probably just him / his manager 'fishing' for any interest for a move. Given their squads fairly high proportion of continental players it may probably won't be the last if such statements.

is this a classic case of a player choosing the wrong club to go to ?

I don't think we'd have been right for him either to be honest as our fans demand more effort than he gives, he has ability but needs to be in a team where he gets an easier ride.

He would have probably had an easier season if he'd signed for Southampton or West Ham - someone like that.
