Proper hoofer, less grin and posture but the better for it. Cyd charis another that would have aced it. Strictly dancer's were 10 a penny back in the day, especially the men

You could have both of them in their prime on that show and there would still be a judge telling them that they were crap.
It’s like all the talent shows. It’s nothing to do with the actual talent on show and everything to do with keeping the ‘celebrity’ judges in the public eye.

Back in the 70s many of us were into dancing with the northern soul all nighters and the old black and white dance movies were still on the telly. We used to get the odd move and shape off them. I was more a Gene Kelly man than a Fred :D
I had never really took note of the female part but watching Rodgers on these clips she's unreal, she's literally light as air and totally loose and relaxed. Freakish really in being able to physically exert seemingly without effort or breath. Belated props ginger.
Wonder how these two would have done on strictly
