Hard to have that opinion having watched him for the last few months but that wouldn't surprise me. In games where we see more of the ball, I think he'll be decent.
Yeah, he has a good range of passing. Giving his lack of game time in recent seasons it makes sense he is rusty. What he needs is good support from a tackler and mobility around him to take advantage of his eye for passing

I'm not trying to sell him - I am saying that he was pretty popular at Everton, was reasonably successful, but lost a lot of fans after he was caught drink driving. He was also ravaged by injuries, so his promising start was ruined.

I also think he is past it as a PL player, but will add a bit of quality to the centre in the lower league.

He is the subject of a very lengthy thread here

It was more than drink driving. Since 2013 he's played 28 games in all competitions for them. Clearly he was absolutely finished at the top level of the evidence shown after injuries, then his attitude and fitness problems. The signing of him here epitomises the lazy half arsed way Moyes has gone about things this season. I'm not even sure he'll do well next season because whilst he can on occasions pass a football he has no mobility whatsoever and he's not exactly Jan Molby or Glenn Hoddle.

Before you even start on his lack of ability and pace his injury record suggests he will be lucky to play more than 10-15 games. The physical nature of the Championship will probably reduce that further what a waste of money by Moyes.

You know somebody that wanted to sign him ? I'm yet to meet somebddy that did, I know as far as i am concerned I was gutted when we were linked with him in 2010 yet alone now.

And as Man Utd were constantly on TV around the period he was getting games I watched most games he played in, and I can assure you, he was consistently uninspiring, and largely wank. The only thing he had going for him was that he came from a respected youth academy. And I honestly dont recall another period in history when anybody had anything positive to say about him. He's never even been half the player Tom Cleverly is, and thats saying something.
Tom Cleverly is not half the player He thinks he is too.
