Pop ups are back today, got one if the £1.50 a week game app pop ups, when browsing SMB (android on mobile data)
I keep getting a link to Game of War every few minutes on 3G (iPhone 5). The link is absolutely massive so can't put it on here!

The main problem is that nearly all of the ad agencies use the same back end ad-exchanges to sell their surplus space, as a result we have seen rogue ads come through nearly all of the ad-networks/agencies we have used. The main players like Yahoo/Google being amongst the worst culprits. I have also just terminated a contract with a UK based agency that sells the advertising inside Premier League grounds largely as a result of the rogue ads they were serving. The one network I have seen that has remained consistently clean will only buy about 5% of the ad space.
I am also disappointed in Apple's response to this as I am sure they could stop the problem of the App Store being opened automatically on phones, but of course it is in their interests to drive people away from using browers and towards using Apps as they both sell the Apps and exclusively sell advertising within them.
