George Dobell/Joe Clarke

Any links or out? Just had a look on Twitter but it’s all a bit mental and can’t find anything concrete.

I disagree with GD's stance on Clarke but I don't think anything he said was extreme

However. I have seen arguments today on twitter where blokes have essentially called the victim a slut and blaming her.

There's a massive mysogny problem within cricket. I think there was a very positive response to Rafiq/Racism situation but less so with this.

There’s a massive misogyny problem in society as a whole

Idiots on twitter man, I despair at times

Yes but, Clarke never charged with anything, didnt comit any crime, he apologised for his part in those texts and I am sure he regrets it

But people demanding a players career is ended because of that is just them trying to make themselves look good on twitter

its not about this one specific case, I hate arguing the details of an offence as its not pretty and not someone I'd want to do, but in general I dont like this trend

"she got just what she had coming" in regards to a rape victim is a disgusting thought to have never mind a thought you're happy enough to publicly share. Comments and attitudes like this are far too common and are similar to comments made between Clarke & Hepburn.

Yeah but this happens every debate, people on both sides go way too far.

That isnt Joe Clarke saying that remember, he wont want anything to do with those nutters.

If he came out and campaigned against rape culture and misogyny and helped educate boys on the matter then that would be positive and he would be a good role model to have playing.

But telling everyone to move on suggests he has no regrets or understanding that what he did is contributing to a societal problem. Not sure I would want to be applauding him if he played for England.

Yeah I've no problem with letting people crack on if they show contrition and wanting to make amends. I'm sure someone on here has said he seems to have carried on being a bit of a 'Jack the lad' which suggests that's not the case.

He's never directly apologised for his actions. He's apologised to the ECB for bringing the game in to disrepute and said he wishes the whole thing never happened but never apologised directly for his actions which enabled Hepburns actions.

The fact he remained mates with Hepburn says a lot.
