Get well soon Geoff.

Not sure if my memory is playing tricks, but am sure he made a comback for Durham in the mid-90s when we were short of players. Not sure if it was a Championship or Sunday League game, but he came out and blocked much to the amusement of the crowd

Played one day games in 1992 , was only 41 though. Packed in 1st class in 1990

Can't see any record of him playing after that

That was my assumption too. After reading Dale's article it sounds bad like. :cry::cry:
 
Quite shocking reading that article. I thought he'd just have a small operation and be back fighting fit after a week or so - such is the excellence of hear surgery these days.

I had no idea quite how serious it is.

My thoughts are with his family.

I sent a card so it's lovely to see the comment about messages of support. It all helps in small ways!

Excellent news. Lovely bloke but things looked very bleak for him last weekend.
 
The doctors at the Freeman are f***ing excellent mind. My uncle went in there less than an hour after a heart attack and was sat up in bed feeling as fit as a fiddle no more than two hours later.

Great news for Geoff and his family. No rush for him to come back just yet. His health is more important.
 
Echo the above, delighted with that news.

Sounded very grim for him at the time, I have known a couple of people who have suffered heart attacks and didnt get help in time and they never recovered due to irreversible brain damage.

Nobody has done more for Durham cricket since we became a first class county than Geoff Cook and I was delighted that he was the man to win us our first trophy and back to back county championships.
