Been invited to our friend's pregnant daughter's gender reveal do today at 2pm and am dreading it . Never been to one of these in my 62 years on this planet and dont know any one who has so no idea what it entails (apart from and exploding balloon or something filled with blue or pink confetti)

Cant really back out so the plan is to be cordial and smile a lot , offer congratulations when appropriate and exit said do at earliest possible opportunity

Plenty can go wrong in pregnancy as many people sadly know, me included. These parties before the baby is anywhere near born just don't seem right to me. That aside, it sounds like a load of cringworthy social media type shite.

Surely, however you find out, whether that be when you have a party, get the photo from the radiographer or the midwife telling youwhen it pops out, it’s a gender reveal.

One you get food and bait, the other two you don’t.

Not for me but I’d not upset someone for the sake of not showing my face.

Well , we lasted a couple of hours (2-4) and to be honest , enjoyed the afternoon , having drinks and chatting . We weren't the first leave and actually went to down the road for a bite to eat then home around 7.30
