Gender reveal "party"

Been invited to our friend's pregnant daughter's gender reveal do today at 2pm and am dreading it . Never been to one of these in my 62 years on this planet and dont know any one who has so no idea what it entails (apart from and exploding balloon or something filled with blue or pink confetti)

Cant really back out so the plan is to be cordial and smile a lot , offer congratulations when appropriate and exit said do at earliest possible opportunity

The family are neighbours as well as friend - known them for 25 years . We will do what you say above , few drinks , bit of crack then offski at first decent opportunity

The idea of them is stupid imo, but my wife wanted one. Just used it as an excuse to whip the bbq out and get pissed with my friends and family. Kept her happy and I was happy I had an excuse for a slurp in the sun.

This. Our scratter neighbours had one recently and we had to keep the dog inside for ages after while we hoovered up all the pink confetti from the garden.

Just shows they’re really excited about having a child and enjoy being happy. I really can’t see what’s so bad about it. Why not go and just enjoy yourself. It’s a nice day And good to see folk being kind to one another.

Honestly can’t stand the idea of them. But you might as well just make the most of it as a bit of food and drink. Just remember to make an overexcited noise of shock when one of two colours appears.
