Geertruida

Biglicks

Central Defender
Can we please resist the temptation of replacing Ballard with Onien and give this bloke a chance. Was awesome against Newcastle then hasn’t featured much. 3 tough games to finish the season and we could do with a positive finish.
Mukiele back in the middle and let him come into either right back or midfield nxt to Granit.

He’s a good player so there is definitely a point in playing him. We signed him for a season and the season still has three games remaining.

Said on other threads...that if the heirarchy know he's away then I can see why they are reluctant to play him.

Better to learn more about the other players and give them a chance.

That is absolutely the case, but what are we going to learn about O’Nien or Hume that we don’t already know? Geertruida was a loan signing for a season and he’s possibly a better CB than O’Nien and RB than Hume. I’d play him as I think he’s the better option.

Not having a go at Hume or O’Nien with this post mind as I like them both, but we know what they’re are and where their limitations lie.

We probably have to assume his attitude his fallen off. That’s the only explanation

He was the best player on the pitch the last game he started.

Once a player is away (if it's 100% sure) I wouldn't want to give them minutes in my team, unless they were head and shoulders above the others I had available.

There's a clause in his contract that triggers after x amount of appearances. Reggie confirmed it.
He’s played 27 times. I can’t see 28 being the trigger number

Tommy Watson?

Fair point about Watson, but I think he offered something that most other players didn't. Good ball carrier. Roberts was good , but lacked end product a lot of the time.

And I completely get your point too about him not being in future plans. But we’re in the here and now, so just play your best team. If there was a young’un he was keeping out the team we wanted to try for a few games, then absolutely don’t play him but that isn’t the case.

I fear its attitude related (pure guesswork from me) mainly based on the above.
