Hate to say it but RLB proper knacked up Geertruida by refusing to play him for so long when he was clearly our best right back and we were much more secure when Mukiele played centre back.

I'd be mad as hell for not being played and missing out on the world cup.

Ankle surgery originally planned for end of season but brought forward like you said to try and get him fit for start of pre season
 
So given he ended up playing exactly 30 games, do we think the clause was 30+ games or have we actually triggered it and it's down to the player now?

Hadn't seen that but I was going to say from his interviews it's clear so long as he's on the pitch he's buzzing wherever.

Get your point but I think Mukiele's our best right back. Just happens to be our best centre-back too.

Can’t help but think he was told he’d be playing in the PL and that would help his chances

Then we didn’t play him as much as we could have. I do remember him and RLB having a proper barney on the side lines against somebody - can’t remember who like.

I’d like to keep him and Traore at the club if we can. £20m is nothing.

We probably need 6 players across all positions including a keeper to keep progressing.

Next year we want top 6, a good run, quarters of both the FA and league cup and to get deep in the Europa - again - quarters.

That’s a lot of football.
