Geertruida

I heard an interview with one of the players the other day (i can't remember who it was) and they were basically saying they had started working on next seasons game plan in the last few months of this season once we knew we were safe. And that ties in a lot with us being more on the front foot.

Earlier in the season we would always have less of the ball and have to outperform our Xg to get results, whereas now we regularly have 10+ shots on goal per game, was 21 i think on sunday. It's like the club know our approach (whilst ensured we got results in the short term), was not going to be enough to compete at the top end consistently.

I'd love to see an analysis of our shots per 90 mins over the season and Xg per 90 over the season. I think we'd be able to clearly point to the moment the attention switched.

I'm confident over the summer we will sign players who will enable us to play more on the front foot week in week out and we'll be absolutely fine. We'll play the old hard to beat away from home in Europe (still pinching myself), and be on the front foot at home

You can definitely see this in the matches. For me, as soon as the derby was done, we immediately switched to a far more open style of play that we haven't seen before. Was more exciting, though we also shipped quite a few goals. It worked out in the end, but even if it hadn't I still think it was the right call. We ran the risk of becoming too predictable, and I'd prefer us taking the risk on european qualification rather than in the opening weeks of next season.

I thought we looked a mess once brobbey went off. Instantly looked disorganised! Their sending off massively helped us in last 20
Nowt to do with brobbey going off
If he is going to stay he will want some playing time guarantees. After we blocked his move to Liverpool in Jan he has still not played significantly and when Ballard is back Mukiele likely goes back RB
No chance I’d be moving mukilele from centre back we look a better footballing side without Ballard
Mukiele is great at rb don't be silly

Mate are you slow a right winger and striker is not all our money smh
He makes himself good right back but he has no positional discipline there he just wants to get forward we look a far better side with him centre back and guitruidw right back
How can Reggie assure him ,Nordie will be RB ,BDB,OMAR,REINALDO.Then unless you have agendas we have just watched great displays from a majestic 09 and Huuuuuuuummmm, and those 2 are not going to be in starting lineups.Nearly all of our dosh has to be spent on attackers who score a decent amount of goals. It was a fantastic performance from the lads yet we have sweat because instead of being 3/4 goals up we are whistling for full time.So I am happy to back what ever the club decide.
We are batter side with Mukiele centre back and Gertruida right back he holds the shape better and doesn’t charge all over he also never gives the ball away

This is something that stands out a mile. Mukieles very good at right back (occasionally caught of position aside) but top top level centre back.

Playing Hume on the right though gives them both so much freedom to bomb on and rotate while still keeping our shape. Particularly that Chelsea game but also the Everton and United game could see the benefit of Hume in that position.

Mukiele still gets forward a canny bit even as a centre back he pushes up the pitch can do that when you have pace he gets canny few shots away

I’ve got no idea how you can watch us and think we are better with Ballard , yes he is good on set pieces but we look far better without him.see the beginning of the season and the end, our best back 4 is Gertruida mukiele aldrette Reinaldo
I’m loathed to agree as DB is class but it’s what id play and with the amount of games and potential for injuries I don’t see it as a problem

Some autocorrect from me 😂 data* Diarra **

Still drunk from Sunday a valid excuse? Data = first Sara and Diarra = second Diarra

So why weren’t we like that when diarra was missing for about 5 months due to injury and afcon? Yet another needless pop at him

End of the day he’s a great player it’s about a squad game now more then every everyone will play if he rotating Ballard with aldrette tho I don’t like them together too similar
