I think the big benefit will be in a positive relationship with Liverpool, which will potentially unlock other deals going forward. Same as with Chelsea when we allowed them to bring Guiu back.We're effectively losing a £30m player that would only cost us £17m. We paid a loan fee, so after everything that £5m is only £2.5m.
The only way this really benefits us is if we sign him for the £17m and clock all the profit ourselves.
It's intentional from the club to operate this way as a longer term play. Let's see when it comes back to benefit us.
