How do you know the option to buy could be brought forward to January and, more importantly, they aint buying him if he knew of Liverpools interest and wanted to move there which is highly likely.

Fair enough its disappointing he didnt play against West Ham but thats only based around Hume having a mare. Hume isnt always that bad when he's slotted in the middle when we are attacking

In our last game we had Luke o'nien getting minutes man. That can't be a regular plan.
 
He has been massively underused recently but would that have avoided this anyway? If Liverpool come in and we know he's close to slot.

I would definitely have triggered the option however. He's a premier League quality performer in multiple positions which is a steal for £18m or whatever.

People are talking about signing him and getting a profit as a comfort blanket and to justify us being fine losing him.

The only thing thats been suggested is they are taking over the loan deal. People just ignoring it.

Bet he’s regretting those comments now😂

Had he not said that, we could’ve let Geertruida go and used it as another example of how we always do right by the players. They could say that we’ve comfortably stayed up (hopefully) which is more than the last 6 promoted teams have done so the season is a success.

One of the journalist tweets seems to suggest we only have the option after the season. Not sure if that’s likely, but I could imagine it being possible in a contract

I’m fairly sure that clubs can’t recall a player from a loan if there’s an optional price agreed.

Hard one for me personally dropping hume for what is essentially a loan player.

Saying that I’m probably being a bit emotional about it.
 
I like him but he’s on massive wages. Think he’s on something like 96k a week and he’s not in the first 11 when everyone is fit. Depending who we replace him with this might turn out to be good for us

True, usually they've very limited but not uncommon to have one for the January window in a season loan
