The first trailer was released today and shows JD running from the new enemy (The Swarm) with Marcus Fenix and Anya Stroud (JD's parents) shown in flashbacks to JD's childhood.

I can wait for the beta next week and the full game in October!

They've released footage of a headshot with the Dropshot. It fires hovering mines that appear to rain down on the enemy.

The movement and shooting mechanics are based on 3. Hopefully Judgment will be forgotten about as far as the developers go.

The embargo for the beta ends at 2pm (UK) today. It'll mean we should have loads of beta gameplay and discussion in prep for the weekend. The Coalition have also posted on their forums that they're giving some codes away to access the beta from tomorrow via competitions.

I guess so. I'm still act like a big kid mind, just can't really find the time to pump hours and hours into a game nowadays. And I begrudge paying what they ask for them too.

Has anyone else had a crack at this? There's been an issue with codes going out to people so I didn't manage to get on until 11:30 lastnight. I only played 90 minutes but it seemed really enjoyable, and the Gnasher is pretty solid even for the beta build. It's very fast paced and moving around cover is nice and smooth thanks to being able to vault across it without breaking stride.

I'll give it a 7.5/10 so far.
