Gary O'Neil leaves Bournemouth

He did a cracking job keeping them up and it's harsh for him to get the boot off the back of that, but clubs are looking to improve all the time.

Everyone thought Southampton did the dirty on Nigel Adkins ten year ago when he was doing a decent job there but the fella they brought in didn't work out too bad for them.

Whilst I'm surprised he got sacked and i thought he done a canny job....there was similar outrage and shock when Southampton turfed Adkins a few years back, and Brighton with Hughton. Sometimes it pays to move on from a position of strength.

As for people saying that Bournemouth should be happy with their lot of staying up, pretty sure loads said the same about Brighton when Hughton was turfed.

Was about to post the same… agree with you.

the difference is that both the brighton and southampton ownerships at that time had already shown themselves capable of doing a good job..boruenoouth have a new owner who has done nowt..

Maybes yeah, and it perhaps won't work (and it may not be for improvement reasons, it may be for other reasons, like a bust-up etc...).

But just countering that there's two very good examples of clubs axing a 'manager doing a good job' and kicking on.
