I admire his positions, and as someone who lives in the Latte Belt of Melbourne, it's safe to say I share most of them as well. However, as an employee of the national broadcaster he needed to keep his gob shut. IMO. Not because I have a problem with celebs using their platform, but because I am stauch advocate of the national broadcaster (ABC over here) and in order for it to survive, it needs to remain impartial - or at least as impartial as it can possibly be.

This basically, it's a bit ironic that the football podcasts is the original starter and it's the least interesting one.
The amount of adverts they include in each podcast is mad though. Fast forward through like 5-6 minutes of adverts for a 35-45 minute podcast.

I agree. Plus he upsets loads of idiots which is another good thing.
I've met him a couple of times and have heard numerous stories - he's a horrible man.

The last bit I agree with. Probably one the best English strikers of all time. Kane is the only one I've seen that is better him. Sadly, people think of him more as a presenter and celebrity than as footballer now.

See, I don't think it's shite, I just find it so superficial and bland that it's barely worth listening to.
Lineker is alright, nice enough, good broadcaster but pretty vanilla, Shearer is fine, obviously too black and white for me/us but ok, and Richards is insufferable, so not sure what I am meant to get from it other than just gentle, friendly, predictable background noise with the odd bit of 'banter'. As a country are we that easily pleased that this has become one of the most listened to podcasts out there?!
