GARDEN PUB SHEDS

A couple of my mates have built them and done class jobs. One is possibly the smallest pub in the world but brilliant and the other lad has spent about 12 grand on his and its a beauty.
They sound like a right laugh:lol::rolleyes:

I’m just thinking on ,everyone I know who has a “bar” in the house have quite the troubled marriage and are living the lie.

I like other people's but wouldn't want my own for a number of reasons. I don't host any sort of parties, I wouldn't want to give up garden space or the current brick shed for one and lastly I would be an alcoholic of I had one. Saying that I wouldn't mind a man cave with a mini work shop in just not a bar
There's a Facebook page called garden pubs and sheds and some of them are unreal. If money was no object like and to keep people out of your house they're ideal

Unbelievable some of the bars, you'd literally never have to leave the house. And for those saying it's because you can't bring the lads in the house etc etc some of these are way better than your house especially for hosting parties, footy etc 😂

thoughts on these ?
I have a large decked area with a semi enclosed canopy and a sort of shed/bar combo thing I built during lockdown (just before wood became as rare as Rocky horse shit) and It’s been used constantly ever since. It’s got a telly, Amazon echo, Wifi, infra red heater and whatnot. I will be turning it into a proper summer house/bar thing when I retire as I haven’t got time or money to burn now.
Do I care what the boring bellends on here think? Absolutely f***ing not.

Fine if people are just enjoying themselves and not causing a disturbance to others in them.

I'm sitting outside at mine right now. Can hear the birds singing, some bairns playing and the general everyday noise that you expect to hear.

There's a couple of houses nearby with "garden pubs" that are too loud at times. One plays metal/rock music but we're at the distance away where it just sounds like a constant thudding of bass. The other one invites people round on an evening, then they play music and talk over the top of it and the women alternate between screechy and cackling laughing. Thankfully both are just now and again and not all of the time.

Because of the layout of our house/garden our situation was the opposite, the garden area by the garage gets all the sun but was essentially dead space as there were just a couple of trees down there and sticking a deck there just backing on to a standard garage would have been weird as fuck. But as we’ve converted the garage and stuck in bi-fold doors it’s a really useful space and it gets used all the time. Much cheaper than an extension!

Thinking of getting one in the new house I'm moving into next week. I'm not a sad bastard but want somewhere to do some guitar strumming and listening to music wor lass doesn't like. Any dos and don'ts for getting one built? My budget is about 7 grand.

Its a decent budget so should work out canny. If its what you want and the house isn't big enough for your man cave then go for it. Its a space away and you only live once. Do whatever you want marra, as long as it makes you happy.👍🍻

You could probably buy a full terrace of houses in the numbered streets of Horden for that kind of money.

My main issue is what base to put it on. You can only access the garden through the house and I'm not sure how you'd get all the concrete through the house in wheel barrows. I'm hoping some wise denizens of the SMB can give me some alternatives.

I got mine (more of a shed/workshop) laid on bock paving, big regret a couple of years later as it is sinking in places. Concrete is the game for a base tbh, i wish id took that option looking back, not as pretty but solid as a rock. You can get it pumped over the house via a concrete pump lorry but obviously it will add a grand or two to the bill.
