Full body offside rule

See daylight between the players is the answer. The weekend there, part of a players shoulder was offside, on the wing🙄

Defenders are going to have to drop real deep to not let people run in behind them, games going to be massively stretched, I'm not sure if this will be a good thing or a bad thing for the game, will just ha e to wait and see

Just leave it as it is currently, but have a limit on how long it can be checked. If the onfield decision cannot be disproven within say 30 seconds, it stays onfield

Could just as easily lead to more grappling, more diving, with the attacker trying to get an arm or shoulder just ahead to hold the defender off and the defender trying to stop them.

It'll still be controversial as players will still be a cm offside. It's just drawn in a different place.
It’ll be ‘less’ controversial thoihh because you’ve been given a huge advantage to start with - unlike now when your cock could be offside

Makes no difference, a player will still be a cm offside. Managers and fans will still twist.

I understand how it works

My point is you’d be given a hell of an advantage over the defender - so if you’re then still a cm offside then it’s just tough shit.

I'll look forward to the interview when Arteta replies that it wasn't offside but hey ho.🤣

Attackers will still have that half yard, same when free kicks are coming in too.
Not too bothered either way but if it speeds up the var nonsense I'll be happy enough with it.
Won't be any of this was his toenail or other random parts of body offside, it'll be is there daylights or not which will be easier to check
It'll be exactly the same as it is now, but the judgement line is half a yard further forwards.

How much daylight is enough to constitute daylight? One pixel?

The solution to all this bollocks is literally staring them in the face. Time limit on VAR. 30 seconds. If they cant prove an offside within 30 seconds the goal stands. They need to stop chasing absolute perfection and use VAR for what it was originally meant for (to correct blindingly obvious mistakes). This would also mean a check would be complete before the goal scorer has finished celebrating so theres none of this standing around waiting to kick off whilst the ref holds his ear.

Exactly, instead of how much the attackers head is offside or how much of their sleeve, it'll be how much the the defeders head or how much of the defenders sleeve is playing the players heel onside.
People will be whining you can give him onside there, the defenders cock can't be considered something the defender can tackle him with

A think wenger pushed for this

Apparently going to be trialed in in Canadian premier league shortly
.. Was in favour of this until I listened to refs talking about the difficulty of it on the radio. They said it would be too difficult to spot the gap and make VAR a hell of a lot harder / complicated. They said refs will never accept it and didn't think it would happen ..

The daylight rule will still have very marginal decisions, it's unavoidable as there has to be a line somewhere. I don't see how this is better and it'll be near impossible for linos outside the PL to judge without the benefit of VAR.
