Free ticket pisstake

I'm sick of season ticket owners crying like bairns feeling like they're not appreciated.

Either stop buying a season ticket or just shut the fuck up.

Stoke/soton free tickets are bollocks
UNi tickets are a tiny amount of discounted tickets if you're a student.

Free tickets to most home games this season have been on offer to Uni staff.

It's not fair, he got something I want! Sounds like jealousy to me. Can't say it bothers me, I'd pay and go regardless of what others pay if I consider it a fair and reasonable price, then again I'm not a particularly jealous person.
If I was jealous I wouldn't have a season ticket,I would look for these chap ticket offers. However there are thousands of season ticket holders who struggle to pay for their tickets and a lot will be thinking what's the point in having a season ticket. Another way of looking at it is if every weekend you go to your local and buy a few pints say 3 quid a pint then the barman serves someone who comes in only a couple of times a year and charges him only a quid a pint you'd think that unfair.

It's more like giving the new fella a warm pint that was poured a few hours ago that nobody wanted, which was gonna be hoyed down the sink.

Is it not just a case of people who pay upfront wanting the best deal? Surely they have that right.

Yeah and they get the benefits. Guaranteed seat. ST holder status. All the other stuff.

But it's better for the club to have bums in seats. It generates better atmosphere. More revenue from match day spends. More interest in the club for fans who rarely go.

People act like everyone without a ST just gets a free ticket.

It's your choice to buy a season ticket. Why begrudge the odd free ticket to someone who would never have been able to attend the game otherwise.

I agree it is getting to a stage where its of no or little benefit being a season ticket holder. I got rid of mine about 4 or 5 years back when I got my own place. Went to whatever games I could and did ok on the cheap deals when they came up.

This season I have been to most games using the club deals/stub hub etc, and must never have paid more than £20 for a ticket.

Don't get me wrong I am all for filling the ground, but think there needs to be some kind of gesture to season ticket holders to at least acknowledge their loyalty.

Saying that if we ever did make a Cup Final I would probably be kicking myself that I couldn't get a ticket!!

Exactly the same as me. Shouldn't have renewed in hindsight and that's a horrible thing to say about the club is love.[DOUBLEPOST=1386334905][/DOUBLEPOST]

See I would have to actually see evidence to support such a figure. Would be outrageously difficult to get to that amount of games for such a low figure!

 Paid for the mags and Liverpool in the north east corner and a tenner off someone for Man U. All of the rest were free through work, black cats with a mates work and a couple off people who couldn't go who I've sorted for tickets in previous years.

I've took advantage of the cheaper tickets this season but agree that any discounts should go to those that have a season ticket. A cheap ticket for your mate is not a benefit despite what the club tell you, especially when the ticket is likely to be in a different part of the grouund

Your last point sums it all up. Most people who get cheaper tickets can afford to buy a ST BUT they don't because the cheaper tickets are more readily available!

Obviously you won't shup you're a tedious smb postaholic with a bully victim complex.

What a lovely thing to say.[DOUBLEPOST=1386338916][/DOUBLEPOST]

Yeah, cos we sell out all of the time, seats are very hard to come by. And the status, lets not forget the status. What is it again?

Means your in with a shout of getting a ticket to the mags away game. And in the unlikely event that we get to a cup final, you're more likely to get tickets for that as well.

I agree it's now starting to piss more and more people off, mainly people who come on here I'd suspect because none of the older lads in my crowd of about 8 on a matchday are aware of them, and rightly so because season card holders should be looked after because they're the backbone of the football club.

That said I probably think a lot of it is exaggerated and in the grand scheme of our canny crowds they'll be a drop in the ocean. That doesn't make it right though and they should only be special one off things, not every other match. Part of the problem in this day and age with all the cooperate side of things is that part of the cooperate packages will include free tickets for their clients/customers (or students/teachers in the case of the university), and I'll be more than surprised if this doesn't go on at other clubs as well. I know for a fact the Mags have had free ticket offers for buying shirts in the club shop quite recently so that too is probably more common than just at SAFC.

The free tickets that get distributed at the university are probably pre-paid by the university - they do hold graduations at the SoL for example and I doubt that's cheap so it may be the case that SAFC say 'you pay us x amount to have your graduation ceremonies here and we'll give you x amount of free match tickets for your students/staff in return'. Be surprised if that's not the case anyway and that the principal won't be replicated across the rest of the club's cooperate partners.

Bottom line is the club needs to be more clear on the issue or start reducing the amount supposedly floating about out there because it will and is isolating loyal season card holders and if they had any brain cells they'd realise this could severely shoot themselves in the foot.

They say on here that club officials monitor this board - well I hope they're monitoring threads like these.

Some probably could afford, others probably couldn't. But either way almost everybody attending with a free ticket wouldn't have been there without one.

If I was the club id just give ST holders free cup game access.
