Don't all sports professionals have to be insured by their respective clubs? I may be wrong but it would be sensible to do so.

Considering that the club were at a really low point when he arrived due to all the departures and sanctions, that doesn't bode well for the immediate future.

He's management rather than a player. Guess it depends what the insurance is for. E.g. I think the size of premiums would make it prohibitive to insure footballer's for injuries but you might insure for a career ending one.

It's frustrating because end of last year after the one day final (which Franklin was away for apart from the final), I felt as though this year was a great opportunity to kick on and we simply haven't and have in fact gone massively backwards. Recruitment this winter is absolutely critical.

Apart from an overseas player I think they've left it late to sign any decent domestic players. Anybody available now will have been released by their club's, that's not to say there might be one or two good ones who would do a job for Durham but it would smack of doing things on the cheap.
Norths record with signings has been poor, especially overseas players.

As it stands we don't even know offically if he has been retained by the club along with the rest of the young players on development contracts this summer.
They can put out a pointless tweet about the head coaches position but can't be bothered to keep people informed about something they would genuinely like to know about.

Well they eventually let us know on November 7th.
