Frank Lampard - manager rumours

That was down to him though, nothing to do with us as a club.

After Moyes, we've had Grayson eho went on to 3 or 4 other jobs and did nowt, Coleman went to China over a year later, Ross went to Hibs, finished mid table, reached the semi-final of the Scottish League Cup, finished 3rd in the SPL, reached the Scottish Cup Final and also got them into the Scottish League Cup final but was sacked a week before it was played. Parkinson has arguably been a success at Wrexham, Johnson failed at Hibs and Fleetwood, Neil failed at Stoke and it was arguably far too early to judge Mowbray at Birmingham before he took ill.

Pretty even over the last 10 years for managers/head coaches who have left us.

Ross who is an academy coach at Newcastle?

Parkinson who had to drop into non league for a job and got lucky with a club that could outspend any club in that division and still failed to get promotion in the first season?

And the others are all out of work!*

With only Moyes likely to get a “bigger” job than SAFC

Pretty even?

*Apologies Coleman is manager at the 9th best team in Cyprus.

By Frano would be a dream compared to who we will end up with let’s be honest !!! The whole club stinks of failure.

Ross and Parkinson have had gone on to have relative (for the level they were at) success since they left. Allardyce went on to become England manager, the ultimate job to go to. Moyes, as you said, went on to get a bigger job.

Lampard will probably turn his nose up at us if he was approached, which I think it highly unlikely that he will be approached.

If he does it will be more down to his breeding than anything we do. Chelsea. West Ham United. England international. We are a mid table Championship club. Why would someone with his top flight experience touch us with a bargepole? So if he does turn us down my conscience will be clear at least.

Plenty of internal pressure obviously but batshit clubs like Sunderland and Everton are actually decent options for these sort of managers. They fail and then just blame it on those being 'basket case clubs' and it being an 'impossible job' before leaving with whatever reputation they came with in tact.

... and you could put him on your ignore list..

Would he fuck. Would command instant respect from the players.
By shagging all their wives?

Many of our players have likely never heard of him- considering how young they are (and how french many are 🤣)

Rigg was 10 when he retired- 4 the last time he played for England.

(There is no parallel with Keane- we had a squad who could remember him as a world class player).

Can we not just get a proper manager?

Never heard of him? Don’t be daft. He only retired in 2018 man 🤣

So 16/17 year old FOOTBALLERS wouldn’t know who he was?
Not if they were french. Also average is a key term.

This isn't really the point of the argument though. Our players aren't going to be overawed by Leicester's former assistant manager the same way our squad were overawed by Keane.

Also, and I think this is key- I don't think he'd come anyway. Nobody appears to be particularly interested in the position.

Don't get the clamour for Frank mind.

Don't see him as a good tactician or a real thinker of the game tbh. He's had money and good players when he's rocked up at clubs before. He'd probably want a lot more money to come up here than what the club are willing to offer anyway.

I think a few are thinking it could be a similar scenario to when Keane came here, but I can't see him having the same effect.
