Frank Lampard - manager rumours

You'd genuinely be better off with Dodds.

Are you not being linked with Parker? Boring as owt but would be a significantly better pick than Lampard. Although it is hard to imagine him north of London.

We really wouldn't be like. I'd take Parker here as well. He'd want far more than what we'd pay though despite not a very successful spell in Belgium.

There'd be no pitchforks from me if he got the job, he's a massive name and could become a really solid manager.....with the right coaching staff.....so that is my concern!!
Chelsea had a great set of playets , coaching staff, facilities and cash.
What happened there?

He has done absolutely nothing remotely impressive in his managerial career. Paul Heckingbottom would be a better choice than him.

You'd imagine Lampard will have still have that status as a top level footballer so he could have that pull to bring certain players in. Heckingbottom, one promotion apart hasn't done anywhere near enough to say he'd be a better appointment.

Streets ahead of the likes of rosenior. Took over the mess Liam left at derby and got them to the play offs. He’s not my cup of tea and some will hate him because he’s a Tory but the other names in the frame are levels below him.
WTF??? Can you tell me what political leanings Tony Mowbray had? or Jack Ross or Kevin Philips, Kevin Ball??? There will be loads of Tories in the world of high earning footballers.

It only went wrong for him at chelsea the moment the owner went out and bought a load of players he didn't want. Ziyech, Warner etc

He'd built a very good team bringing through youth players like Abraham, Odoi, Tomoi, mount, worst thing that ever happened for him was the transfer ban being lifted

Unless Jody Morris has decided he'd rather go on his own after the spell at Swindon, I can see Lampard wanting JM, Chris Jones and possibly Ashley Cole as part of his backroom staff so no place for Dodds.

Dream's over.

Exactly
If we can’t financially entice will still over Lens I very much doubt we’ll be giving Lampard a Salary he’d want for starters
Added to fact he’d want staff with him like you say
And as for transfer budget he’d want, enough said 😂😂😂

I'm not sure of Lampard's pull tbh. He was seen as a joke at Chelsea and Everton towards the end. Which young player is really going to be swayed by a bloke who's won about 3 matches since 2021? This is a man who needed an intermediary to communicate with some players at the end of his time at Chelsea.

Heckingbottom at least has more experience and has actually got a couple of promotions on his CV. He's also less of a knob. I wouldn't want either, but Lampard would be near the bottom of any list.

no More than Chelsea, Everton or Derby

I think Chelsea is comparable because of his connection to the club, Everton kinda mirrors the disarray that we appear to be in which the lack of progression.

But in terms of day to day stress and expectations SAFC pisses all over most PL and virtually every Championship club.

In my opinion of course.

Most championship? maybe - but premier league? give owa, we might have Sunderland tinted glasses on but to suggest that its madness. The amount of media coverage in the prem alone makes it far more scrutinized and pressurised than any championship job, then add in the finances involved, the differences it makes to peoples lives and careers etc etc etc
