Frank Lampard - manager rumours

What about his Derby team did you like exactly?

He had a good few loans due to his initial connections but they had no discernable style of play. They spawned their way to a play off final and rightly got shown up when it mattered.

I don't even think the top clubs will trust him with loans these days. He's done absolutely nothing in his managerial career despite being given a few decent gigs now.

It's footballing nepotism at it's finest.

I mean this is just completely untrue, they had a style of play, didnt spawn anything.

Really bizarre post once again
Leeds absolutely pasted them for 3 and a half games that season.

It was only a mental and physical collapse from Leeds that saw Derby fluke their way to the final.

But as you say Leeds got "rightly got shown up when it mattered.":lol::lol:

Derby absolutely battered them, well done Lampard.

Should have stayed in the lower leagues learning his trade before going big with Chelsea, although given the circumstances I think he did ok there.

He seems to be one of those people who some are desperate to fail which I find a bit strange. I would love to see him here but it will never happen.

Like I said, he had no discernable style of play. It was all about giving the ball to the players he had on loan.

He was regularly shown up against the better sides in the championship, as he was shown up by the better sides in the Premier League at Chelsea.

But by all means be hoodwinked into wanting him because he had the gift of the gab and spawned a semi final win against Leeds.

Yet he showed up Bielsa in the playoffs, strange that.

Is it feasible that someone like Lampard who wants to get back into the game / re-establish his credentials ( and isn't short of a bob or two) may see Sunderland as a potential stepping stone and be willing to take the job on the ( relatively) low pay and other constraints ( but with some sizeable bonus based on performance and especially on promotion).
Wherever he ends up he's probably in the last chance saloon for management. Though I happen to think he's a pretty good pundit.

Leeds fan that's never recovered from Lampard owning them. Doesn't mention Leeds cheating via the spying at Derby for which they should have had a points deduction.

Ah is that who he is

Makes sense

Lampard not my number one choice like was just defending him from that narrative which clearly wasn’t true!

Would not be mine either but equally I think his credentials, experience and results elsewhere are nowhere near the disaster made out by some on here. I genuinely think he'd be great with our young squad.

Ok mate. Leeds should have just employed Frank Lampard instead of Marcello Bielsa, Lampard did it when it mattered and basing the quality of a coach on a half of football is certainly the way to go.

I hope you get your man.

It’s fine. bielsa was about to take you down few years later anyway so it’s fine

And btw we’ve not been linked with bielsa so absolutely no idea why you brought him up

Hope you enjoyed the playoff final anyway. Another bottle job when it mattered

What do you mean by the bit in bold? I've just checked their stats and they took 19 points off the other teams in the top 8, Leeds on the other hand took....19 also. So were Leeds regularly shown up as well?
