Founders bar

I don't think they could do anything that would attract me to the ground earlier (barring free drink). Much happier supporting local city centre businesses than handing my cash over to the honking company who run the bars in the ground.

Actually, free pints of Carling wouldn't get me there any earlier either.
What about some shitty discount up to an hour before kick off like theyve offered before 😂?

Was laughable that like. Then it stopped 30mins before kick off iirc.

The once a season BCB upgrade was the last genuine decent ST offer I can remember. The rest has been not worth the bother.

Really annoys me how bad our refreshment offering and service is mind. An absolute tap-in for money making and they continually get it massively wrong. Beggers belief when it's a multi-million pound company.
Sports Bar ( pre Quinn’s) was when the SoL first opened.
Novelty wore off fast iirc.
Cant see it being a draw given the Sheepfolds nearby.
Was literally talking about that last night in the pub. Used to enjoy going over for a few pints with the midweek quiz on and that.

It would have been nice if it had become a normal bar for regular fans with immediate access into the ground but I'm not going to lose sleep over it. Find it very hard to believe opening this up to the public would have made any difference whatsoever to the atmosphere.

There's already the Hilton, Beacon fanzone and the Bar 73 pop up within the stadium car park themselves that all get very busy, plus Sheepfolds, Colliery Tavern, the Wheatsheaf, Victory Club etc a few minutes walk away.

It's a pure strawman argument to say that going to the match is secondary to 'where are you going after?'. It will be to some of a certain age range and demographic and was to me when I was 18 but you grow out of that as you grow up.

Our matchday revenue lags behind many other clubs, probably largely because the North East isn't as affluent as other areas but I think it's a fair compromise for the club to rinse corporates if it means keeping ticket prices relatively low.

Perhaps they could try a less half arsed version of the old fanzone instead? I.e. something specious and easily accessible but better than a pop up bar in a car park?

Putting slow service, training staff and vending machines etc aside,
they are probably at maximum sales capacity of pish lager and “fries”.
Where’s the incentive for them to improve the offerings if there are queues to buy the fodder on sale now?
There is none.
Keep buying pish, keep getting pish.

Went past last night and it looks ready to go.
Looked like a staff training event on and even had the ticket scanners at the door

Spurs not only have a bar they have a brewery in the stadium that supplies thousands of pints for every match, that coupled with bottom filling glasses (ooh er misses) means that there is no waiting to get a pint down your neck.

Have you actually been? In my experience the only ‘craft’ they had on was neck oil paired with the usual Heineken or whatever and it was no quicker to get a pint

£140 is great value but it does of course depend really on whether you like and are able to have a decent drink. It’s not right to say £40 for the match ticket, it’s a PL game and you’re in a suite with facilities within the ground, if you had to buy your food and drink you’d still be happy to pay a lot more for a ticket than that. What did the BCB used to cost, which admittedly had a canteen snack, but no booze, and at championship level?!
Have we already been promoted?! 😉

I paid £65/ticket for the BCB two weeks ago. No food is included.

The old Audi garage should be converted into a football themed sports bar ideal location and big enough to have indoor and outdoor facilities....
I'm sure Donald bought it but could be wrong !

That's going to be an E-sports performance campus & 250 seater competition arena.

Just what the area needs !!
Couldn't agree more..... however i sense your sarcasm. The industry is massive and having these facilities is a massive coup for the city. Competitions will attract thousands on spectators. 20 new jobs on site. Sunderland College have Level 2 & 3 courses in E-sports and we already have training facilities in Sunniside for the likes of Team GB to train before competing at International Events.

e-sports is absolutely massive in America, and all of the talent from europe has to relocate there.

Yes 100% beneficial for the city no doubt !
Wonder why they chose that venue ?

Sunderland is the national Esports Hub campus for all their students hence the national Arena is to be in sunderland - Brims construction has it, the hoardings are put up ready for construction start - most likely port their men over when HICSA comes into completion

Anyone know the craic for this then?

Season card upgrade or summit?

Went to villa park with work Last week in the lower grounds hospitality under the holt end. All you can drink and eat for up to 3 hours before and 1.5 hours after. Upper tier half way line seat, programme and ex players talk in All for £140. Informal bar type environment. Was class

Be great if we had an summit like that
Would have to be at the very top of the Premier Concourse then?
