Forza's Edinburgh derby review

HBSAFC

Midfield
@forzamilansafc has just sent me this...

What an interesting experience. After our lot left Middletons and headed for the ground i fancied another pint so walked a bit further down ER and went in Old Eastway Tap which was obviously full of that lot. Just after I got in the news started coming through that Rangers were 1-0 down, and then 2-0 down. The despair around the place was unbelievable to feel, they were already at breaking point and the game hadn't even kicked off yet.

In the ground, and I was in the Famous Five upper, got in about 20 mins before kick off and the noise levels from the away end were already incredibly impressive, great to see and hear.

Game kicked off and the fella directly to my right absolutely stunk of horse shit which was wasn't great.

Crap goal to concede and for the first time since being amongst them I started to feel them getting a bit confident, especially now that Rangers had brought it back to 2-2 (that game seemed just as important to them as it did us, which was quite funny). Could see the cheering from the opposite end when Motherwell had scored the 3rd and it absolutely broke those around me, you'd have thought we'd just scored with the groans that were going on.

The second goal, as hard as it was not being amongst it, those scenes behind that goal were absolutely incredible to witness, the best of the best. Everyone up around me heading to the exits disgruntled. I stood watching the last couple of minutes at the access tunnel and a Hibs steward had a massive rant to me "the f***ing spawny bastards are always getting late goals" I quietly just listened to him, whilst inside I felt like I was smiling like the Cheshire cat.

On the leaving the ground I heard a young lad who looked about 7 saying to his dad "I really don't want to go to the next hibs match, please can we not"

Due to the police barriers I walked around the houses estate behind the newer stand and found my way to the back of the away end as the majority of Jambos were coming out so I could finally start celebrating and singing as we walked towards the bridge.

Overall a hard afternoon in the home end, but a very enjoyable one in the end!!! Next Monday can't come quick enough now

That's rich. Was a top drawer finish for the Hibs goal. Hearts goals were an OG and a deflection taking the shot away from the keeper.

As for the game more generally...
Hibs keeper made a twat of it, which led to the inevitable. Hearts unsurprisingly dominated possession.

He's right about the dejection pre match arising from Rangers being 2-0 down. Spirits lifted for literally 5 minutes then crashing back down to earth with the sending off and Motherwell scoring the winner.
