Forthcoming gigs.

Just purchased tickets for Neil Young and Elvis in Glasgow and Emmylou at the Empire. Suspect we'll be saying goodbye to all 3, assuming we're all still here in 6 months anyway!

Maria Somerville could be a good one to get to. Thought she was great supporting My Bloody Valentine in Manchester and she has her own tour early next year. Playing Cobalt Studios, Newcastle on 15th Feb.

Ian Prowse acoustic in Appletreewick tomorrow. Pretty sure this is the venue

Should be canny!

Eh?! Where are we all going like?

I'm pretty sure that is the venue at Appletreewick for Prowsey.

I've just put my ticket for The Lathums on Saturday night for sale on Twickets as my knee is still a bit off gig attendance.

Well, at 80 (Neil), 78 (Emmylou), 71 (Elvis) and 70 (me), I don't think we can take anything for granted. In fact, I think I'd better add my tickets to my will in case I go first. Would you want them?

Nah, they all sound shite. Got any Tune Yards tickets?!

Went to see Neil Young at the Arena about 10 year ago. Wasn’t overly impressed. Too much f***ing about & not enough songs for my liking. It has been a talking point of this board previous like. Other people thought it was class.

f***ing loads, mate!

I think I'm actually going to go now as my lad is sick as a dog and had to cancel his little support slot so I've nowt else to do.

I was at that one and loved it. The only person I'd consider going to see at the Arena, unless Tom Waits decided to tour. Thought the awfulness of the venue fitted well with the grunginess of Crazy Horse. I saw Crosby, Stills & Nash at the Sage in the same year which cost twice as much but I hadn't seen any of them and they were all lifelong favourites (and it was awesome) but I wouldn't have paid half the money to see them at the Arena, or twice as much to see Neil at the Sage. If that makes sense?

It was dog shit. They were self-indulgent and spun four minute songs into seven minutes songs with extended jamming. I speak as a fan. Left during the encore break I think.
Got tickets for Sex Pistols in Scarborough next August.
I may be in the minority but that venue is awful.

Would expect nothing less from the Horse! That's what they've always been about.

20 minute versions of Like A Hurricane or Cowgirl In The Sand? Bring it on. I saw him with Pearl Jam 30 years ago and he was much more disciplined, less time, more songs but better? Nah.
I was at this one as well. 22+ of the best minutes of my life!!

Billy Cobham made a lovely coda to the day out at Chelsea for the last weekend in October. Followed by Cardinal Black at Koko the next week and then last week it was Kingfish at the Forum, which was much more funky than I expected.
Upcoming, there is Elle Bailey launching an EP with an unplugged set at Rough Trade Records, Brothers Landreth at Islington then nothing until Phillip Sayce in early June.
There will be local stuff, like a recently discovered Jazz Club over Tottenham way and the resurrection of the Crossover Jazz club in the recently reopened Crouch End Town Hall, which has a lot of unknown but fantastically talented players.
I got a couple of tickets for the Foo Fighters GB tour at a pub in Milton Keynes in March, thinking I had got a coup on some kind of pre-megatour warm-up gig, as FF are known for doing random things like playing in a field in Italy with 500 drummers. It looks like I have got tickets to see the tribute band Foo Fighters GB on their latest tour!

Not actually been to a gig there but stayed in a place just a few minutes walk up the road from Peasholm Park in the summer. There were gigs on every weekend and to be honest you could hear them quite well from from the place we were in. There's a big field over the road from the venue and people used to sit on the grass with a few cans and listen for nowt
I saw them at Finsbury Park in 1996 with Lydon but my mate's never seen them so going partly for him. Booked up same place again and going with our other halves to make a holiday of it. Undertones and Stranglers are other bands so decent line up anyway

Black grape on Saturday.
Saw them at the Mayfair in about 95, great fun.
Saw them at the moment festival last year. By a long way the worst live performance I've ever seen.
Not sure what to expect!

just got round to booking flights to see new model army at the melkweg in amsterdam on the 21st december. was supposed to go last year but the tour got curtailed after the drummer needed an operation on his arm.
must've seen them about 100 times over the years but never seen them 'abroad' so looking forward to it.
