We were unfortunately stood right next to them. I'm all for people having a sing-along at a gig but they were shouting the lyrics at the top of their voices during the quieter songs, was doing my head in
Saturday. Might go now.The Men they couldn't hang have moved next month at the Cluny to Valentine's day.
Class, I wish more bands would do that!I've noticed that being worse at quite a few gigs over the past few years and can't understand it. Why pay good money to go listen to live music and then just spend half the time getting tanked up and loudly bantering on with your mates through the whole thing?
Saw Fantastic Negrito at Pilgrim (formerly Hoochie Coochie) in August, and he stopped a song dead and ordered a group of people chatting through a quiet song to leave, and that they could have their money back. Words to the effect of "this is not the right place for you, you don't belong here."
Fantastic Negrito at Pilgrim is up there as one of the best gigs I`ve ever been to. He was absolutely outstanding and his band were fantastic. he dealt with the noisy rabble brilliantly.I've noticed that being worse at quite a few gigs over the past few years and can't understand it. Yeah, still a really good gig, they have great on stage chemistry as a band. Nice balance between the new album stuff and the 90s stuff. That segue from a Taylor Swift cover into A Long December was class!
@mickb2112 also noticed this as well. I know i like a sing a long when I am there but that's ok. Interesting that this "talking" sometimes creeps into theatre as well which at times is even more noticeable (trying not to be a theatre snob as we need to promote all live events)Fantastic Negrito at Pilgrim is up there as one of the best gigs I`ve ever been to. People chuntering on loudly is becoming a massive problem. The last couple of gigs I`ve had people with their backs to the stage shouting at each other and laughing loudly right through the show. You just know though if you ask them to shut up and watch or go outside and talk you`ll get a load of abuse. Why spend so much on tickets only to miss most of it and spoil it for everyone else.

Doing this this year seeing as waves isn’t on.
The big issue I’m having is the clashes, and trying to plot a route round an unfamiliar city, it was bad enough in SunderlandKaty J Pearson is great.
Eh? Put up with them?!Just got a couple of cheapies off Twickets for the Stranglers in Bristol tomorrow night. Got to put up with the Buzzcocks again but worth it.
I’ve seen em a couple of times supporting the stranglers and I’m not a fan. Diggle and his pointingEh? Put up with them?!
Think I’ve seen them 4/5 times now & they’ve always been canny enough. Certainly not “putting up material”.
Went to similar with Justin Hawkins last year, he was very entertaining, so much so I'm going again in January.A night 'in conversation' with somebody who was the drummer in a band forty years ago?
Each to their own n that like but dear me...
Are the Dunn brothers still in there?Martin Stephenson & The Daintees at 229 in London next month. Lost count of how many times I've see them now.
