I was taken aback when they went on sale. The Lathums was essentially an outdoor gig in Wigan in December! I resorted to drinking mulled wine!

Was anyone else from here at UK Foo Fighters at city hall last night? I wasn’t expecting much, not the biggest foos fan, but they were excellent. Was also a point where the drummer shouted “any Sunderland fans in here tonight”, big cheer from me and sounded like quite a few others too.

Ooooo! I’m friends with him on a Facebook & he likes a good whinge like. To be fair, it sounds justified.

Aye, it sounded that way. There’s certain performers kill it straight away. I’ve seen John Power doing an acoustic gig & put people in their place after a couple of songs & it set it out chatting was banned. The lads who I was with laughed & said he’s done it at exactly the same point everytime they’ve seen him more or less word for word.
He got the right reaction out of the room though.

Ian McNabb is a precious, self-satisfied boreshead. He may be correct on this occasion but I saw him at Darlo one time and he nearly had a fight with a punter. He did two one and half hour sets. We left at the interval as he was dull. And don't think about questionning his opinion on facebook. Imagine having a go at punters for not buying your merchandise. He's lucky to still get bookings.
Well aye, there’s that too. I think local venue gig goers understand that merch is now an important part of a gig for bands.
I normally buy a vinyl, especially if the band come out & sign stuff.
If you’ve not sold anything, it’s either because your merch is shit, or the gig has been that poor no-one’s interested in a memento of it.

He definitely has a point about the talking, but his other points just make him sound like a right bellend. Having a pop at people going for a drink/the toilet during the show, and people not buying his merch. Laughable.

I've been to a fair few McNabb gigs over the years and he is often quite forthright about talkers during his acoustic performances and I totally agree with him on this. He often doesn't help himself by loading his set with obscure album tracks and the last time I saw him solo I decided that I wouldn't return to watch such a show.
He properly lost the plot during the Covid lockdowns and apparently blocked Prowsey on Facebook (they were musical mates) as he jokingly referred to him as The David Ickecicle Works.
Downstairs in Pure? He then took the piss and played the sound of silence
It's a tough call because these lesser known acoustic sets are normally frequented by good steady away people so no one wants to be the one says stfu dickhead
