Forthcoming gigs.

Young’uns tonight. Excited, cos it’ll be my debut, but don’t know if they’re doing solely Christmas stuff with it being their “Christmas show” or if I’ll get to hear some of their own stuff too.
The Men They Couldn’t Hang in Kendal on Friday night will be my 30th gig of the year.
20th for me. I’m counting a festival as one gig. Bands wise, including supports & festival slots I’ll be on 50+.

Two more after tonight. Rifles & Futureheads.

I've counted Neighbourhood Festival in Manchester as one gig and I've counted a gig that I left after about an hour which was several bands but I couldn't hack the remaining supports prior to Tony Wright of Terrorvision.

I've still got the Sharon Shannon Big Band performing the songs and Shane MacGowan and Lottery Winners. I am hoping to get a ticket for The Lathums playing an acoustic pub gig in Wigan but they are going to be like rocking horse shite when they go on sale on Friday morning.

Somehow only the first time I've seen Everything Everything tonight at NX, was surprised how good they were to be honest. Felt like a proper show.

Also a pleasant surprise at how good Higgs is at singing live, sounded exactly like he does on record which is pretty impressive given how high he goes at times.

Maybe mentioned elsewhere but Riverside Newcastle is closing on 1st Jan 2025. All planned events are moving to Digital.

Ahh a shame that. Not the best layout but didn't mind the odd gig there. Was at Digital for their 'launch night' for the main room the other week when Ghostface Killah was on. No beer on draught, £6.10 for a can of Guinness and a massive fuck off pillar that blocks half the stage if you stand on the right.

Shite.

Never liked the venue, but seen some decent gigs there. PiL, Idles, Coral, Black Grape, Jimmy Cliff….

That sounds shit

Where does the venue stand in terms of the Newcastle circuit? Similar size to Boiler Shop? Smaller than NX & City Hall? Bigger than the Uni?

What did you think? Evidently enjoyed it enough to buy the 'Tiny Notes' vinyl I saw you carrying around. (I think it's a gem of a record but I'm glad they didn't sing much off it - 'Tim Burman', the Lockerbie song, had me in bits!)

My lad's a big fan so I was really pleased he got back from Canada in time for the show (his 2 week trip eventually lasted 9 weeks!).

Just checked my calendar and a bit surprised to see that last night was my 53rd of the year, including 4 all-dayers and 1 festival.

3 more to finish off the year and 14 plus a festival booked already for 2025. It's great being a pensioner!

Aye, it was great. First time I’ve seen them, but they got the balance right of showing their talent, keeping it Christmasy, but not going too corny with it.

Aye, was hoping there’d be a merch table beforehand, wanted the record for the cover as much as the songs! Was going to hang about after to see if I could get it signed, but with the bairn decided to just get home. The subjects & the lyrics are extremely well done, but very emotional like.

Class that your son got there. You should have said hello.

Off to see this fella tonight at The Sage (Glasshouse), be a bit different to Slipknot in Leeds on Sarrada.
