Forthcoming gigs.

65 quid for Fontaines DC next year in Newcastle, they're having a laugh there mind.
Me mate messaged all excited saying she's got a pair of tickets and did I want to come. How much? quickly became OW MUCH?! and it's fair to say i think i may have pissed on her chips somewhat

Aye I thought the same, was only 40 with the fees for standing at Leeds last week. Still bought one like, tickets are getting even more ridiculous prices year on year
I know they are more popular now but I'm sure I only paid about 25 quid a few year ago at the City Hall

It's Happening TONIGHT

WONK UNIT

Been waiting for Wonk again since seeing them at north east called. Superb band

That was great fun! Thanks for flagging it up.

Hadn't been to a gig up there for years but noticed they've got some really good stuff coming up so will have to keep a closer eye on their socials.

I got soaked at about 10 am on the way to the match and never really dried out all day but it was an all-round cracker. We popped into the Microbus before the Central and there were 2 blokes (I think from a band called the Lost Boys or Lost Lads) doing great acoustic covers, very different to the usual setlists. The Model, Say Hello Wave Goodbye, Personal Jesus, Starman etc ..... Place was rammed, though that doesn't take much.

This is a massive pisstake IMO, given that a few weeks ago I got tickets for the comparable gig in Manchester next summer (Wythenshaw Park) for £50 each incl fees. Why should Exhibition Park in Newcastle cost 30% more?

There is a so-far-unannounced additional support act for Newcastle but the equivalent additional support in Manchester is Kneecap (alongside English Teacher at both gigs) so it will have to be someone stupendous to warrant the extra cost.
Sat in a Brighton hotel before The Human League tonight.
God bless the 80's 🎶 😁
Read a review of one of their gigs last week (Guardian IIRC) saying they were tremendous. Enjoy.

Not often you get an impromptu conga and a piccolo performance at a punk gig but that made it even more Wonky 😎

Wonk Unit been covered above, but must add that the prolonged 'soundcheck' was pure performance art! It's vital that bands like this exist, survive, and are seen & enjoyed by people willing to go out in shitty weather to see them. Never thought I'd see a moshpit in a Gateshead boozer.

JAMC were on top form at NX last night, enjoyed them immensely. A good mix of oldies and newer stuff, they got the singer from the support act, Ciel (from Brighton) up to sing the Hope Sandoval part on 'Sometimes Always'.
My Loop Experience earplugs ensured that my tinnitus isn't bugging me today, and the sonic assault was an uplifting experience.
