Forthcoming gigs.

Aye, I told off Mensi a few times because he had a Lads top on at Upstarts gigs - 🤔 I didn’t appreciate being patronised!

Be class man - unless you need to travel down, arrange yer kip etc etc
Nah, I live not far from Reading so there's trains / tubes etc, I just forgot all about it so it wasn't in my head at all - the wife can't stand them so I'm going on my own to this one.

can anyone explain what the difference between a booking fee a service fee and a handling fee ? , all 3 on a recent ticket purchase of mine :(

Great question.
The ridiculous "add-ons" are putting me off attending at certain venues (e.g. City Hall in Ncle) because they use only 1 ticket agency (e.g. Ticketmaster), which is wrong...

i was allowed to print my ticket for free , so there not all bad !!!!
Yes, but the % they add on to the basic ticket price, is usually higher than that if other agencies.
Unfortunately, very few venues sell tickets themselves.
The Cluny sells direct to customers, but not many others...

Gruff Rhys and Bill Ryder-Jones joint tour comes to Gateshead on Wednesday. Provisional stage times posted on Glasshouse website has Gruff Rhys on at 7.30pm and BRJ on at 9.10pm.

Isbel was amazing mate, last of my kind blew me away man. It’s up there with as good as it gets. I knew he was good but I didn’t really appreciate how good musically he was. I had tickets for him in the paradiso in the dam pre Covid and never got, that’s my favourite all time music venue but I was well impressed with the globe as a venue mind i thought it was superb, obviously spent a lot of money on it.

I'd only been to a seated gig there before (Nick Cave) and I'm not sure how close to sold out last night was but it was a great standing venue. Easy to move around, pick your spot, get to the bog or the bar and back. Great sound/lights. Loads of helpful staff. Best of all for me were the jugs of free iced water on the bar (I was driving). Fantastic set, good balance of old and new, and a really good atmosphere. Had to have a polite word with a couple of blokes behind me when it seemed like they were going to carry on yacking into 'Elephant' but they were fine about it - it was an old half-deaf fella and his son! - and we're best mates now!

As is now customary on visits to Stockton, we popped round the corner to the Sun Inn before the support for a couple of delicious 'banked' pints of draught Bass. Nowt like it!

Yup, I've seen them both before

Well at nearly 59 years old and 45 years of gigging I'm not ready to give up, whether it's a young band or old, i love it tbh.

I've got over 10 years on you on both counts and I still feel exactly the same. I must admit I'm starting to prefer seated gigs but managed 2 standing shows in a row this weekend (Say She She and Isbell) without any mishaps.

Idles tonight, gonna be manic

It was wasn't it. Only got the tickets off twickets yesterday, I only checked on the off chance. No idea how they keep that energy in a performance night after night
I was surveying from upstairs and that's exactly where I'd have been !

I was surprised by the number of lasses getting stuck in, a few brave enough to crowd surf as well

I took my 11 year old daughter and she turned to me after 5 minutes and told me it was "absolutely insane"....I kept seeing a gobsmacked look on her face....at the end she told me how much she loved it and I was so proud 😁

Ha ha there were group of “gig talkers” near the mixing desk was just starting to get on me tits but they were ferociously shushed and tutted at by a load of irate Women which was quite funny but seemed to work.

The booking fee is how the ticket company makes it's money, and the service is a rip-off because they can and the handling fee is another rip-off because they can. Be glad there was no 'printing fee' for print tickets, or, worst of all, a £1.50 fee I paid once to have an email ticket...emailed to me.

Last night was with wife, son, son’s girlfriend, wife’s cousin and his mate. Age range 23-59. Canny. My daughter’s going to the Ally Pally to see them.
