Forthcoming gigs.

New venue (kinda) in Newcastle from this week, Digital are starting to use their main room for gigs as well as the smaller ones they host at Think Tank. Probably about 1000-1200ish? Good news really, need another decent mid sized venue similar to Boiler Shop around the city centre in between Cluny and NX/City Hall sized rooms to try and get more acts up here.

Ghostface and Inspectah Deck from Wu Tang are there on Thursday night for the launch night and they've got that Kneecap band in December who are selling out everywhere they play at the minute.

Got that on Thursday, English Teacher tomorrow night and Ibibio Sound Machine on Friday both at Boiler Shop this week.

I didn't know they had even stopped using it. The last one I went to there was Peter Hook in 2013.

I’m not sure I’ve ever been in there. Been to a couple in Think Tank, but that’s quite small. Definitely not 1,000. Thought that Kneecap gig was a small venue.

Sorted Tickets for Richard Dawson (Glasshouse) and Throwing Muses (Cluny). Got English Teacher / TTSSFU at Boiler Shop tomorrow. TTSSFU were supposed to be decent when they supported Soccer Mommy at Wylam Brewery in the Summer so might be worth getting there early for.

They were on at the Melkweg in Amsterdam last week when I walked past. For some reason a long line of gangster wannabees peacefully queing to get in the venue amused me.

Just in from the 40th anniversary of The Pogues Red Roses For Me gig at Hackney Empire led by Spider Stacy, with Jem Finer and James Fearnley also playing. Was fantastic and so pleased I didn't miss it. James Wallbourne played guitar throughout and Fontaines DC drummer Tom Coll drums. Various guest vocalists and musicians, joyous and frantic It was being filmed and Spider and Jem both made comments that sounded like other gigs were a possibility.

Anyone else at Alien Ant Farm tonight (NX, NCL)? Decent live band, I've seen them a few times over the years, but the vocals tonight were spectacularly shite - sounded like I was standing in another room.

Anyway, it was me who set the fire alarm off, when everyone was leaving. F'ing daft that they don't allow people to go out the side exits anymore.

Was at Amyl & the Sniffers last week & it was the same. Walk past a huge set of doors that lead out on the street to wait in a huge queue with everyone filing down a staircase through a small foyer. Daft.

Got two tickets to see a great band, WH Lung at the cluny tonight. Full of cold so won't be able to gan. Anyone want the tickets drop us a PM
