That sounds like two great nights. Bill Ryder-Jones' new album is superb and although the new Gruff Rhys album hasn't clicked with me yet he's always good fun to go and see. Disappointed neither are playing up here.Gruff rhys in Liverpool on 17th,early birthday treat. Also bought two tickets for Bill ryder jones on 21st March in Liverpool ,thinking it was a Saturday. Its a Thursday!
I was like that with gruff, but I love it now. Stick with it.Yeah, it's a proper shame artist's are missing the north east.Although, gruff played a few new tracks off this album before christmas at poprecs. The Bill Ryder Jones album is the best thing I have heard in ages.SublimeThat sounds like two great nights. They were fantastic..paid £30 to see London Calling at the Cluny and these were better for free in the Wheatsheaf. The clashed excellent in wheatsheaf Saturday night
Yeah it's a shame. I had a ticket for Gruff Rhys at Pop Recs but came down with covid so missed it. Hoping they'll both do further tours later in the year. Their albums have been very well received so that may help the chances.I was like that with gruff, but I love it now. Enjoyed it apart from the amount of pissed people there.Dead Men Walking tonight at the Fire Station..many thanks to @Parkmaverick for the ticket.

Just back from Dead Men Walking..fantastic..loved every minute of it..great stories (especially Jake Burns)..great acoustic versions of some belting songs..good crowd in as well.
Enjoyed it, but think that might be my last time unless they change the line up. Third time I’ve seen them, it might have even been the same set list as Gosforth a couple of years ago.You must be logged on to see external links

Jake Burns stories were great..relative to the history of SLF..Kirk Brandons stories were bizarre..just inane ramblings about nothing..the Westworld one was canny like.Enjoyed it, but think that might be my last time unless they change the line up. Yeah mate..too many people talking while the band were speaking..as you said..a lot of people will have been out early doors for the match.Enjoyed it apart from the amount of pissed people there.
I've just got a ticket for Prowsey and the band at Southport in October. Front row again. Gerrin.Next one for me is Ian Prose at the Peacock. Nowt until March then
