Cheers for that, can't wait for the gig now!I went to see De La Soul early 00's,and they were poor.Their 1st couple of albums were so creative, but when I went to see them, they seemed to have fell into the hip hop cliche category. All a bit misogynistic, bringing lasses on stage and gyrating next to them.It was sad,cos I still think 3 feet high,is one of the best hip hop albums ever.
This was nigh on 20 years ago. They might have had a middle aged epiphany, and now decide to go back to their early style.I find a lot of bands do that.Would be great if they did the full 3 feet high album.A lot of bands do that nowCheers for that, can't wait for the gig now!
Tbh, it's more a tick box thing for us, I know they'll play loads of stuff that I've never heard and don't care for, but it's localish and as long as they play a couple of tracks from 3 feet high and I'll be happy.
I'm outraged on your behalf there. More than $2.50 that! That's like half a coffee. Glad you got it sorted@Crayola-Kid I got my tickets switched. They don’t refund the booking fee though the stingy gits so I’ve had to pay an extra £2!
Yeah, I think that was intentional - wasn't the album either after 3 ft High or a couple after called De La Soul is Dead? I remember reading at the time that it was an intentional move away from Daisy Age stuff so they were saying that part of the band was over. Agree with you - bad move!!I went to see De La Soul early 00's,and they were poor.Their 1st couple of albums were so creative, but when I went to see them, they seemed to have fell into the hip hop cliche category. Whats best site for local NE gigs listings these days?
Cam stand that as If everyone in the Areana supports Newcastle,, Saw a Band on Saturday at the Riverside and he thanked the Geordie public . Saw more Mackems in there than enoughSaw stormzy last night and another gig where the singer decided to put on a Newcastle shirt and I had 10 minutes of toon toon chants
I know he has gone a bit batshit, but Ian Brown, whenever I saw him in Newcastle,Whitley bay etc.used to always make a point of mentioning Sunderland.Always got a cheer from the many Mackems attending.Dunno if there was some connection thereCam stand that as If everyone in the Areana supports Newcastle,, Saw a Band on Saturday at the Riverside and he thanked the Geordie public . Most bands wouldn’t have a clue there was a difference. There wasn’t until early 80s.Cam stand that as If everyone in the Areana supports Newcastle,, Saw a Band on Saturday at the Riverside and he thanked the Geordie public . Saw more Mackems in there than enough
I'm sure he can find another best man for the dayLooks like my mate has decided to get married the Saturday I'm seeing Pavement, the bastard.
I remember once my mate got married and I was due to see Morrissey that night in Hartlepool which I was massively looking forward to. However, worse than that Sunderland played Chelsea at the exact time of his wedding. So I missed the 4-1 victory and probably the best performance of my lifetime. Sacrifices you have to make for your mates.Looks like my mate has decided to get married the Saturday I'm seeing Pavement, the bastard.
He was a friend of Mensi and the Upstarts I think, roadied for them for a spell.I know he has gone a bit batshit, but Ian Brown, whenever I saw him in Newcastle,Whitley bay etc.used to always make a point of mentioning Sunderland.Always got a cheer from the many Mackems attending.Dunno if there was some connection there
