Took me 3 attempts over 2 days to buy a ticket through music glue . Name tel no email etc then ..boof cleared you boxes and start again, repeat 15 times . Eventually bought it with only an email . No way it was sold out

She has mentioned the issue on twitter last year, so i was already feeling a bit self conscious about my usual gig stance of standing just slightly bobbing my head, even though im usually half way back. This was a bit much though, especially when she went back for him after another song.

They attract the older age group, not all of whom are interested in jumping about but maybe prefer to be closer to the front.

I look for new music but I'm getting on
I've started to feel a bit conscious of my age turning up to English Teacher gigs etc but I'm the one telling young people to listen to them .
I was 6 foot behind this bloke and for a little while before she said anything she was looking directly at me for what seemed a while ,being in bands I thought is she doing what I do staring into the dark or looking at me and why ?
I'm going to Glasgow to see a bonny 24 year old lass play . Where do I stand? , where do I look ?

Just want to clarify something and avoid messing up the other thread. As you asked, if it had been me I would have been f***ing seething and would have given her a gobful before leaving, about one song earlier than I did anyway. I think it was me who raised the issue here first.

What you've written above has made me wonder whether this kind of outburst has actually become part of their show, so she can make a point. Would be interesting to hear from anyone who has watched them elsewhere recently.

It's kind of the subject of my favourite song of theirs, 'Don't look at me (I don't like it)', which they played shortly before the incident.

Last time I seen them was an early slot at Stone Valley about two years ago. Can’t remember anything like this.

Sounds a weird way to treat an audience regularly though. They dint get big crowds, so to single out a paying punter who’s made the effort seems strange. I know John Power used to (might still do) pick on someone talking during his acoustic sets within the first few songs. To be fair, that was for the benefit of the gig & everybody else paying.

That article you put up with Kylie in I found annoying too . Targeting a type of person based on age ,appearance, maybe socially unsavvy and pretty much doing the Phoenix nights Nonce joke on them ,based on very little.
A perv can pause the tv and do his thing over Wet Leg if he wishes.
They have as much right as anyone to pay and be there . Clearly with this article in mind it's gathering weight but like all stuff these days only with people who are on an agenda and creating these type of situations based on not a lot .
We are moving into the ,can an artist not put a pair of small shorts on sing about sex and wanting it, without being seen as a sexual object . Area.
The audience being attracted to the band has always been a massive part of music. Male and female . Housewives and Harry Styles, no problem

I am concerned now because my track record has always been to follow and champion live groups fronted by female singers - goes back to my love of Pat Benatar but this type of article might suggest I am a perv. I have championed some up and coming groups like the Damn Truth etc and will continue to do so as I am thinking of going to see Beaux Gris Gris and the Apocalypse and these look good live.

I think the article is trying to say that the constant videoing of a singer for the entire set is the problem. I think constant recording of an artist is a problem for an entirely different reason. It gets on my nerves.

I’m the opposite……always prefer a male singer. I’m not good for the sisterhood me 😂
 
I've got a spare ticket for Franz Ferdinand at The Fire Station on Wednesday 25th June. Was meant to be going with a mate but she's had to fly home to Italy (family emergency). Trying to sell her ticket for her, any takers?

Bang it on twickets if it’s not allowed on here mate. No other tickets for that night on there so might sell pretty quick.

The show I have tickets for is sold out, can I resell my tickets?
If a show is sold-out we can attempt to resell your tickets for you. If we're able to resell them, you'll receive credit on your customer account for the cost of the tickets (minus a £1 exchange fee per ticket). You'll be able to use this credit to buy tickets for any of our future events. If this is something you would like us to do, please get in touch with our Ticket Office at [email protected] and a team member will get back to you as soon as possible.
