Forthcoming gigs.

Just got back from PiL..enjoyed it but wouldn’t go overboard about them..didn’t agree with the f*** o** thing aimed at Cook and Jones..Lydon said himself ‘There’s a strange atmosphere in here tonight’..meaning a bit flat from where I was standing..good musically but still a bit meh from me.

I thought two thirds of it was hard going. Flat as a witches' tit until Rise.

Did you know the two thirds ? As in songs ?
Being honest, I’ve seen them better. But I’d say I’ve seen them do a better Setlist than performance.

Rambo. John Lydon’s best mate from forever.
I agree with Patch
I'm not wanting my favourite songs to have a good night
I seem to enjoy gigs more these days if the room sound is good and the band has it going on .
Quite a bit I didn't know but I just listened and observed
The guitar alone I could watch and enjoy
They're a changed band to my ears and I like the noise they make now

I was confused by that as it was OK where I was
His fans are pushing 60 ,not really sure what people expect . Not loads of jumping anymore but loud applause between songs

It was ok..I’m nearly 60..it was kind of what i expected..no one has ever jumped around at a PiL gig anyway..they were ok.

Thought PIL were ok tonight. Not the best i've seen them, and certainly not the best sound I've heard from them. PIL and James are about the best I've heard, sonically, over the last 10-15 years, but tonight it was a little bit muddy IMO. Agreed that Lydon's comment about a strange atmosphere was aimed at the crowd. However a Monday night in Sunderland is never going to have "Live Album" potential.

What do you mean by changed band?

Think the last time I seen them would have been the Academy & I was driving. From memory, it was better than last night, not that last night was bad at all.

I saw man power upload an insta story of Laurent Garnier and summit about the north east and shit mesell thinking he was booked up for a gig up here

after a proper look I think he was just saying he looked like Bob Mortimer

Haha.

Would love to see Garnier again. His album from earlier this year was superb.

As in the line up for last ten years or whatever 😄
His sort of last incarnation
All the albums since have a similar feel to them . Casual fan of early PiL .
3 People I was with had no albums , 1 was a 1976 single buying fan
All loved it as I did
Someone's mentioned the mix ? It was class from where I was
Its hard getting that Sub bass sound sounding nice and everything was crystal clear

Aye, think it’s been this line up since 2009, so knocking on 15 years. 3, possibly 4 albums.

Mind, they haven’t topped This Is PiL yet.

Thought pil were good, not the best I’ve seen them, but v good. The support was v entertaining, didn’t know you get that many profanities into a single minute, well good. Overall a solid 7.5 / 10 , 9 for the venue, excellent to have as good as this in the town.

I'm so cool I hope they play the new album in its entirety rather than the hits.
I'm hoping they'll play only songs they haven't even written yet.

It was somewhat hypocritical considering the Sex Pistols reunions he participated in 1996 and 2007, which was to make money too.
