Put this on threads like this before but its well worth a read;

Fred Ayre was a promising Manchester City Youth player till injury etc sent him on a downward spiral. He never played a single league game for anybody and his career stats are pathetic, but the book is about that decline and his subsequent rise as a successful businessman.

I suspect it gets overlooked because nobody knows who the hell he is, but don't let that fool you. Its well written and funny and shows a different side of football. More expensive than some of the suggestions on here ay £4.99 but then you get what you pay for in life and it sold a million copies which the others probably have not. It sold that many for a reason.

Its the book Ryan Noble would have written had he then went on to become a succesful businessman ;)
