FM beta has been released! I'm saving my cash until the real thing is on sale as I don't enjoy it without the add ons and downloads. That's half the fun.

Anyone pre-ordered and got the Beta code?

Post thoughts, season updates and anything else here! :D

I've given up on it after 13, just can't be arsed anymore. It's a shame....Used to love the "just one more match then ill gan to kip" sessions then looking over to see it's 7 in the morning.

Give it another go mate, 13 was the worst in a long time IMO.[DOUBLEPOST=1381969635][/DOUBLEPOST]First thing I did was sack di Fanti :lol:

I think 13 was the hardest they've created. Spent ages tweaking tactics and things but it was slightly more satisfying when you were banging the goals in whilst keeping clean sheets.

I've just been reminded that FM13 downloads work for FM14 so I'm tempted to 'pre-order' now. Any feedback yet gents?
 
User interface is much better, faster an sleeker. Match engine seems pretty smooth so far. It has in depth financial fair play too.


Had a great start with wolves, won 4 out of 4. All my best players wanted out which was a good and a bf thing. Managed to get 30k roger Johnson out for £2.2m, sold stearman for £3m to hull. Doyle wanted out but nobody would pay or take his £38k a week.

Managed to keep Davis and Hennessy. Brought in tommy Rowe from Peterborough for 700k, been a revelation. Signed Cathcart for £1.2m and a few frees so far.
 
What's the tactics like?

Liking in so far, played 4 games of the season, got beat 1-0 off villa, beat everton 1-0, accrington in the cup 7-0 and arsenal 1-0. Celustka won prem player of the month for August.
 
'13 is one of my favourites. I tried something completely different with Athletic Bilbao and it turned into my longest ever save, 2031ish! Unsure whether i'll buy the new one I may just try and recapture the spark of that save!

Hammer 4-1 off Man United in my 4th league game. Chelsea away next. Gerrin.
 
This looks great so far. Impressed with most changes. The tactics look far more in depth. These new player roles allow for tactics that are specialist for your team. I've felt in previous games that there is always one best formation to play in to get the best out of any team on the game. Now I feel like you can do anything as long as you balance it out right and have the players to play in it. DOF role looks a lot better this year, job interview is an interesting little gimmick and the news and transfer interfaces are better.

The only thing I'm not sure about yet is encouraging agent ownership. I haven't fully weighed up the pro's and cons of that yet.
 
A way to get the beta code for free is to order the game through amazon, then when you have got the beta code, cancel your preorder.
