It could be, but only in the sense of a Calabi-Yau manifold. The flat earth conceptualisation can be explained by a hyperelliptic surface of a brane interacting between higher dimensional space, and, potentially, other branes operating in other dimensions. These could influence our our brane and thus introduce effects percieved in more standard cosmological models.

I doubt very much 2600 years ago folk believed we lived on a spinning ball , going round the sun whilst at the same time hurtling through space in alignment with all the stars . the heliocentric model is quite a modern phenomenon I suspect. a lot in the flat earth movement point the finger at our friends in the Vatican for the globe lie but who knows . how has it kept going? , I think the www has a lot to do with it , the grip on information and power has been loosened

So I'll bite then. How far is the ISS from the earth and how far do you need to be to see the curvature of the earth then. If you are going to post drivel you need to at least support it

The greeks calculated the circumference of the earth in 300 BC - Aristotle reported that mathematicians had calculated the circumference of the Earth (which is slightly over 40,000 km) to be 400,000 stadia (between 62,800 and 74,000 km or 46,250 and 39,250 mi)

It was the catholic church trying to surpress the heliocentric and globe model because they believed if we were not the centre of the universe, it made us less important, which made god less important.

It was in the face of overwhelming evidence that they finally had to admit the truth and adapt their tales.

Hilarious that someone can think the Vatican came up with the globe idea. Don’t read history, don’t read science, just make up random shit.

You can see the curvature of the earth from 35,000 feet of you have a wide field of view - so the ISS is much higher than the minimum to see the curvature of the earth. What do you get out of peddling falsehoods on a Sunderland message board? It baffles me that someone would waste time for so little possible benefit

Don't worry, his favorite 'fact' is that there are no pictures of earth and will never change that. Before the day is out you will be asked why there is no live webcam stream from the moon. Therefore we the earth is not a globe (or roughly a globe).
