So many people are in on the conspiracy. Anyone in the aircraft industry, anyone concerned with ballistics, large span bridge designers, anyone who works in weather monitoring and prediction, anyone in astronomy and space sciences, anyone who has done any degree of world travel and looked up. When you break it down, the people who are not in on it are probably in the minority.
