A lot is gonna be said about the top order and some of it is justified but worth remembering that Kohli, Pujara, Rahane haven’t scored runs on these pitches and they are experienced, fine batsmen. It’s gonna be tough for Sibley, Crawley etc facing Ashwin on these pitches

Nah don’t give them the satisfaction of thinking they’re right that “green tops” are what we play all our Tests on. I’ve fallen into a social media trap this week trying to explain that I’ve never seen a “green top/mamba” whatever they want to call it for a Test match in England but it’s like talking to a brick wall

I’m with you. I can’t ever remember us preparing one, not recently anyway. However, I’ve learnt they’re so blinkered that even if we produce 5 roads they’ll still claim they’re green tops because NONE of them I’ve encountered understand how swing works anyway.

That being said, we might aswell prepare green seamers

They’re decent, but history suggests they can’t bat for shit when the ball swings/seams a bit.

Aye true that as well. “ITS THE f***ing OVERHEAD CONDITIONS MAN!!!” Although sometimes it isn’t just that of course but if they can’t get the first bit then no point going any further.
