Superb first 45 minutes from these two. I reckon that whatever records Cook sets in the next 10 years, Root will break them.

Root already has a 100 in this match. The three hours or so between now and then are a bit pointless. Might as well just put him on 99 now and cut out the middle man.

It sounds like they're playing far too much within themselves. We'll see what happens when NZ bat but the whole approach seems to have been timid and nervy. BBC have even been questioning the desire to work singles. The kiwis haven't exactly been sending down unplayable rip-snorters.

Performances seem to have dipped ever since they took the no. 1 spot.

Cant see cook carrying on till hes 38 like

Also, Root has no chance, cook will probably end up on close to 40 hundreds
 
Not far off par that for me. Swinging like a bitch, pitch roughed up. Skittle them for 170.
