I haven’t seen enough of Sibley tbh but he just seems like a player that never seemed anywhere near good enough and had suddenly had a good season. Hain looks stylish but not better than Vince, Ballance or Malan for me

Sibley has reinvented himself as an old fashioned opening blocker, reduced his game to just two scoring shots. Watching Leach at Lord's, I think this is exactly what the team needs.

Vince, Ballance and Malan should be on or around selectors thinking. The trouble is two of them have a repeatable weakness that needs coaching help first.

First thing I'd do is take the gloves of Bairstow and move him up to 4. Foakes in as w/k and Denly dropped.

Bairstow isn't in form but at least he has a proven record in Test cricket - his work behind the stumps has been average in this match too so two birds with one stone.
