FIFA referee denied entry by the US

Then why are they only figuring out it's an issue now? Was it only decided to be played in America in the last few weeks?
It's "only an issue now" because he actually tried to enter the country and found out that the immigration officials (or whoever) didn't care a jot about his diplomatic passport. Sounds like he jumped through all the hoops asked of him and they still turned him away.

I wonder would we have these problems if Mexico and Canada where joint host without the USA? Or if the World Cup was held solely by Mexico or Canada?

Probably not, as they don't have the same draconian immigration results...

I'm half expecting Trump to lift the trophy for whoever wins the tournament...it would just sum him and his country up...

Kaveh ‘Fuckwit’ is LIVE right now on the banks of the East River in NYC…..and absolutely NOTHING about the Somali Ref OR the fact that the Iranian players and staff will have to jet in and out of LA & Seattle from their base in Tijuana on the day of their 3 group matches.

Sky with their finger on the pulse once again….🙄

Right oh, cheers. I didn't realise it was a blanket ban on Somalians. I suppose rules are rules, but you would have thought they'd have given an exemption for the tournament.
Russia were told to relax rules and visa entries in order to host 2018. I’d imagine America also made these promises when there were granted it but the Orange one has done a 180
